TUS Corn Risteard Ui Mhathuna (U19 C Hurling) Group 4 Round 2

Ennistymon CBS 1-14 St. Caimins Community School Shannon 0-10

Ennistymon CBS went into this match with a game under their belt having played Clonakilty CS two weeks prior, while Caimins were fresh out of the blocks. A win for Ennistymon would see them top the group and this is how it panned out on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-10.

After 15 minutes, Ennistymon were leading 1-3 to 2 points, with a long range effort from Conor Morrisey dropping into the goals. Conditions were poor with heavy rain falling before the game and Caimins finished the half stronger with their free taker accounting for a lot of scores. Halftime 1-4 to 0-8.

The scores were level 15 minutes into the second half, then Ennistymon began to find their scoring range with Mark Callinan, Ricky Wynne, Mark Kelleher, Conor Rynne, Jamie Wynne and Macdara O’Keeffe adding points to the scoresheet to see out the game.

Mark Callinan gave a man of the match performance from wing back. Clonakilty and St. Caimins meet in the final round game after Midterm to see who else progresses to the Quarter-Final.
