Ennistymon CBS defeated Coláiste Treasa Kanturk by 2-17 to 1-14 in the 2024 TUS Corn Roibeard Ui Bhuachalla (Under 17 C Football) Quarter-Final on Tuesday March 19th in the University of Limerick.
This was a great contest with top class scores from both sides. Jack Gallagher made some crucial saves in goals for Ennistymon and Luke McGuane was in flying form in defense, bursting out at pace. The half time score was 1-8 to 0-8 in favour of the eventual winners.
Darragh MacGroary and Louis Griffin worked hard at midfield for Ennistymon, while up front Daniel Brody, Joe Concannon, Seanan Kirby and Conor Burke were outstanding. Young guns Daniel Healy and Jack Lavin had super games. With only 2 points between the teams in the last 10 minutes it took a lot of determination to get over the line.
Seanan Kirby finished with 2 goals and 5 points to his name. The mam of the match was Luke McGuane.
