Patrician Academy and Cashel Community School finished all square in the Munster Senior B HC (Corn Tomas Mhic Choilm) at Dundrum on Tuesday.

Very little separated two evenly matched teams all through. Aaron Ryan had two early pointed frees for Cashel with Kieran Twomey (free) replying for Mallow. Good work by impressive Colm O’Shea led to a point by Barry O’Shea as they were level 0-2 each. Good play by Kieran Twomey led to a lead point by Ben O’Connor. The Mallow side emerged further ahead when a foul on Eanna O’Hanlon led to a pointed free by Kieran Twomey. At the end of the first quarter good play by Sean Kelly led to a great point by Barry O’Shea. Lorcan Carr pointed for Cashel. Both sides were off target before Cashel keeper Jack Currivan saved well from Charlie Carroll. Barry O’Shea worked well for Eanna O’Hanlon who pointed 0-6 to 0-4. In the closing moments Kieran Twomey (free) and Aaron Ryan exchanged a point as Academy led 0-7 to 0-5 at the break.

On the resumption, Riain Quigley had a first minute goal that edged Cashel in front. Good play by Jack O’Rourke led to another Riain Quigley point. Eanna O’Hanlon soloed through and pointed for Mallow. In the 40th minute, Riain Quigley with another point opened up a lead 1-7 to 0- 8. Academy hit the front in the 42nd minute when a free by Kieran Twomey was finished to the net by Stephen O’Flynn.

David Kearney made some good saves with the Academy defence holding firm. Barry O’Shea was denied by Jack Currivan. Aaron Moloney levelled at 1- 8 each. Cashel pushed ahead again with points by Riain Quigley and Lorcan Carr (free). Academy moved David Walsh to midfield where he did very well. Both sides swopped points being level at 1-11 each in the 58th minute. Good play by Kieran Twomey led to a very good point by Eanna O’Hanlon as the game entered injury time. Cashel fought back very well, they had the equalising point by Aaron Moloney deep in injury time.
