Scoil Pól Kilfinane, Tralee CBS, Coláiste An Phiarsaigh Glanmire, CBS Mitchelstown and Carrick on Suir C.B.S. qualified for Round 2 of the TUS Corn an Dara Ui Dhonabhain (16.5 C Hurling) competition.
Scoil Pól Kilfinane 5-8 Ballincollig Community School 0-6
The game started very well for Scoil Pól, with the score being 3-8 to 0-2 at halftime. The Kilfinane school were well on top for the whole match, winning 5-8 to 0-6 in the end with both schools winning 11 frees during the game.
Scoil Pól were strong throughout the pitch starting with the defense. Ballincollig kept battling hard and although they had a few chances they could not capitalize due to the backs ferocious tackling, blocking and hooking. Kilfinane’s midfield held the team together, contributing two points between them and working hard to win the turnover and passing it into the full forward line for scores.
The forward combined for five goals and six points with some great passing and communication going on between them. Overall, it was a great victory, with some great points, scores, teamwork and communication throughout for Scoil Pól Kilfinane who progress to Round 2.
