Fáilte ón gCathaoirleach
Is cuis mhór áthas dom fáilte a chur roimh gach éinne go dtí website nua IarBhunscoileanna Na Mumhan.
This is another step along the road in our pursuit to make Post-Primary Schools GAA activities accessible to a wide audience both in schools and in the general public. We are lucky to have a group of hard working individuals who are determined to ensure our competitions are run fairly and efficiently across the Autumn/Winter and into the Spring.
We work on a participatory based model where each school gets to play at their own level from Grade A to D/E in both Hurling and Football in age categories under 15, 16.5 and senior. Our aim is that students in our schools get the opportunity to compete and wear their school colours and enjoy their experience. Inclusive physical activity plays a crucial part in improving the health and well-being of young and old, so we hope all games are enjoyed by all.
We expect that this website will be informative and keep all interested parties up to date with what is happening at Post-Primary School level throughout the Province. I would like to thank Teachers, Coaches, Principals, Boards of Management, Parents and Students for their commitment to our games in schools in each county. At an organisational level I wish to extend a thanks to the Munster Council, each County Board, the county Servicing Officers, Games and Coaching, our County Representatives, our Grading Committee, a hard working Post-Primary Schools Committee and in particular John Brennan and Ed Donnelly who collectively make our competitions and structures run so smoothly.
Finally, best of luck to all schools in their respective competitions this year and may it be a successful year for GAA sports in our schools.
