CBS Ennistymon, Scoil Ruain Killenaule, St Marys Newport and Carrigtwohill Community College progressed to Round 2 of the TUS Corn Chiarain Ui Dhrisceoil (16.5 D Hurling) competition.

CBS Ennistymon 2-13 Colaiste Dun Iascaigh 2-12

The Ennistymon lads had a long trek down from north Clare to a last minute changed venue at the opposing schools home pitch. Dun Iascaigh took full advantage of this and hit the CBS boys hard in the first half. The scoreline at half time was in favour of Colaiste Dun Iascaigh, reading 2-10 to 1-2, CBS’ goal coming from the penalty spot courtesy of Jack Cullinan.

CBS put on a much improved performance in the second half and with five minutes to go, they found themselves within two points of Dun Iascaigh. Then Cian McMahon stood up and rattled the back of the net to leave the full time score CBS 2-13 to Coláiste Dún Iascaigh 2-12.

Ennistymon CBS enjoyed fine performances from Alex Leyden, Conor Rynne, Liam White, Darragh McGroary, Ferdia O’Keeffe and Jack Cullinan.
